Carol Y. Tagayun is Area Manager - External Affairs for the Orange-Riverside Region at AT&T Services, Inc. She began her telecommunications career at AT&T on Valentine's Day in 1978. In her 28 years with AT&T, she has held numerous positions. Starting as an "O" Operator she soon moved on to work in sales and marketing as an Account Manager, Technical Sales Specialist, and later as a Carrier Market Consultant II.

Appointed as Director - External Affairs in June 1997 and currently Area Manager - External Affairs, Carol represents AT&T in the following cities: Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, and Seal Beach.

As a representative of AT&T she has served in leadership roles with many nonprofit community organizations. Carol's commitment to community service has led her to serve as the Chairman of the South Orange County Regional Chambers of Commerce 2002-2004 and as Chair of the Irvine Valley College Board of Governors in 2005.

Carol continues to work with businesses and organizations throughout the region. She currently serves on the Irvine Chamber executive board as Vice-Chair of the Government Affairs Council and as a board member of the South Orange County Regional Chambers. She also serves as National Vice President for Asian Pacific Islanders for Professional and Community Advancement, an AT&T employee resource group. Her community service includes work on the Anaheim Chamber board, Anaheim YMCA, San Clemente Chamber, San Clemente Boys & Girls Club, Saddleback College Foundation, the Boys & Girls Club of Anaheim, and the Laguna Niguel Rotary.

Carol graduated from Santa Ana High School in 1975 and the University of Redlands in 1995. She now lives in Orange with two of her children, Ashley, 21, and Nathan, 19. She is a proud grandmother of 2- year-old Hailey and 7-month-old Reese. With roots from West Virginia to the Philippine Islands, Carol has an interesting background and family. She enjoys golfing, gardening, dancing, and travel.
