![]() APCA Outstanding Member Award Prasad Atluri Prasad Atluri joined Bell Telephone Labs in November 1981. He continued working with AT&T Labs after Lucent Technologies split from AT&T in 1996. Prasad is currently Principal Member of the Technical Staff in the TDM/IP Voice area of AT&T Labs, and is associated with CVoIP and BVoIP service development. During the past 25 years at AT&T, his work has included the development of high speed data switch for C3I applications, DACS-VI OSS development, Video Phone development, Fault Management System development for the Frame and ATM networks, and VoIP implementations which included CVoIP and BVoIP. Prior to joining AT&T, Prasad worked for the Defense Electronics Research Laboratories in India as well as Universal Research Labs. and AM International in the U.S. He also worked on the development of EW and ECCM Systems, electronic games, access control systems, and universal diagnostic tools for troubleshooting hardware systems. Prasad has received many awards during his career at AT&T which include the Quest for the Best Silver Award from AT&T Federal Systems R&D Organization. He also received the Order of the Badger Award and the Eagle Award, both from AT&T Federal Systems Advanced Technologies Organization. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) organization and Eta Kappa Nu, a national electronic and computer engineering honor society. Prasad has been a member of 4A and later APCA since 1986. Some of his many significant contributions to 4A include the following: starting the Lincroft 4A Chapter, being a member of the first 4A election committee which put the first 4A National Officers in place, co-authoring the 4A-HO Bylaws which governed initially the 4A-HO Chapter and later the 4A-SJ Chapter, and designing and implementing the 4A SJ/APCA SJ Mentoring Program. Prasad has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. He also holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. |
