![]() APCA Corporate Leadership Award Roger Aboujaoude Roger Aboujaoude is Vice President of Service Delivery and E-Servicing Systems Development for AT&T Services, Inc. He leads the implementation of major Target Architecture initiatives to integrate AT&T operations across technologies (IP/VPN, VoIP, Voice, and Data) and business processes (ordering, maintenance, and billing). Roger introduced the Dark Factory Model to AT&T through initiatives that deliver service to customers untouched by human hands. The pillars of this strategy were a portal to extend the factory to external customers and to provide an accurate common data warehouse. Roger devised the IT strategy to deliver a secure integrated portal known as BusinessDirect. He also introduced the concept of virtual data warehousing through an active data-bus that integrated more than 140 databases under the same data model. Prior to his current assignment, Roger held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility and challenges during his 19-year career at AT&T. He joined AT&T Bell Laboratories as a Member of Technical Staff in January 1988. During his career, he led the implementation of Expert Diagnostic Systems for Maintenance, the deployment of ATM/SONET infrastructure, and the definition of operations and systems for many of AT&T's leading offers and services including IP, Frame, ATM, Private Line, ACCU-Ring, Local, Packet, FTS-2000, and ISDN. Roger enforces software development methodologies that deliver Best-In-Class productivity, quality, and cycle time. Many of his programs have won the most prestigious AT&T and industry awards. He was awarded the 2005 AT&T Science and Technology Medal for outstanding leadership and innovation in system development. He also holds patents and pending patents in virtual data warehousing, integrated order management, directory-enabled services, 3D visualization of KPIs, unification of business systems, best-of-breed data selection, service notification, and order scheduling. He holds both a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (summa cum laude) from Oklahoma State University. Roger serves as both a mentor and an executive champion for Asian Pacific Islanders for Professional and Community Advancement (APCA), an employee resource group at AT&T Inc. He is married to Hala, and they reside in Ocean Township, New Jersey with their two children, Andrew and Amanda. He is fluent in Arabic and reads/understands French. |
