Atlanta hosts 2009 National Awards Banquet

APCA Atlanta was host to the 2009 APCA National Awards banquet held on the evening of September 19th at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia, Atlanta, Georgia. This is APCA's main event for recognition and fundraising for the national scholarship program. The event was well attended by over 125 guests.

Beginning the evening with a silent auction and networking the banquet was emceed by Richard Lui, HLN News Anchor. A keynote address was given by Dr. Jagdish Sheth, author of Chindia Rising, followed by some cultural performances. The APCA National Awards were presented to Margaret Cerrudo, AT&T SVP HR, for Corporate Leadership; Chaiwon Kim, Executive Director Center for Pan Asian Services, for Community Leadership. Northern New Jersey Chapter President, Larry Uno, was presented with the APCA Outstanding Member Award.

Also announced, there is now an APCA chapter in Dallas/Fort Worth!

Other distinguished guests in attendance: Southeast Regional President and APCA advisor, Steve Sitton, with his wife, Mona, and CNN’s Robin Meade.

It was all in all a great event which raised over $4,000 for the APCA scholarship fund. Congratulations to all the award recipients and Atlanta chapter for a successful event!
