Northern California Chapter's Screening of Yielding the Floor Documentary

The United States Capitol Historical Society's Yielding the Floor is an oral history project that highlights the crucial roles Asian Pacific Americans have played in American political history. The documentary received its first public screening in May 2008. On June 26, the APCA Northern California Chapter hosted a viewing at AT&T's San Ramon location.

Yielding the Floor features a series of interviews with six Asian Pacific American members of Congress. In their respective segment, Secretary Norman Y. Mineta, Senator Daniel K. Inouye, Senator Daniel Akaka, Congressman Michael M. Honda, Congresswoman Doris O. Matsui, and Congressman David Wu recount their memories of people, places, and events in the Capitol. At the San Ramon event, AT&T External Affairs Manager Randy Okamura was on hand to talk about his interactions with some of the Congressional representatives.
