The 2001 National Conference Keynote Speaker

Frank Ianna

By Whilma Williams

We heard from Frank Ianna, President of AT&T Network Services, who broke the seriousness that had permeated the lecture hall. In looking at the morning workshop line-ups, he remarked about the wide range of activities listed on the agenda from culture issues to business topics, and he quipped "including one called 'Taking Care of Yourself During Times of Change,' I really wish that I was able to attend that one this morning." Mr. Ianna then spoke briefly on the four topics that 4A asked him to address. The topics were: How is the AT&T Restructure Going? What is happening on the AT&T Network, and the impact of restructuring on the network? What would Support for Diversity be during and after the restructuring oft AT&T, and lastly, What about the issues that are affecting Asian/Pacific Americans within AT&T.
