With all the hard work of soliciting donations towards diabetes research done, over a dozen Southern New Jersey Chapter members and their family joined the rest of the AT&T team to participate in the Walk to Cure Diabetes at Avon-By-The-Sea. The Corporation's vivid green team T-shirts stood out under the bright, warm October sun, revealing our major presence all along the 5-mile walk. Peter Spring, Network Vice President of the Network Operations Enterprise - Solutions Integration Center, AT&T Network Services, and recipient of 4A's National Recognition Award in 1999, had the honor of cutting the ribbon to start the walk. Pete was the Corporate Recruitment Chair for this Juvenile Diabetes Foundation International event.

This year, the chapter supported its members' fundraising efforts by matching donations made by a chapter member to a chapter member. The matching cap of $1000 for this event was nearly reached.
